Adelaide smiled as Angie replied. It seemed they had a fair amount in common, and it seemed she was open to new ideas, at that.
“Figure skating sounds like so much fun, but I’ve never had the patience, or the motivation. I guess I’m more into gymnastics, if you could call climbing very tall trees gymnastics.” Adelaide laughed, lightly. She was never an athlete, but seemed to always be active in one way or another. “From our earlier conversation with Emilius, you’ll know I love reading. Other things that I count as hobbies include hoarding musical instruments, making gumbo, and juggling. I’m actually pretty good at juggling.”
The redhead grinned and tucked her knees under her chin, wrapping her arms around her legs as she did. Sometimes people found the variety of her hobbies strange, but that was mostly the point. Focusing on one thing for too long was boring, and Adelaide had to entertain herself accordingly.

Angie smiled at Adelaide’s remark about climbing the trees and gymnastics. ”I think it counts. I used to climb trees but when I got to be about twelve my parents and my grandmother decided it was too un-lady like.” She was under the constant scrutiny of them even if they weren’t around a lot. The blond girl nodded to the rest of what was said. ”Juggling? Really, I’d like to see you do that sometime.” Adelaide had to be the first person she had known, personally, that could juggle.
”I used to like to keep busy. Other than art and maybe reading, I would usually choose things to do that were more active. Even when I listened to music, I would dance around in my room. Got caught more than once doing that too.” She smiled at the thought. Angie wasn’t a bad dancer but still getting caught dancing around your room by yourself was always slightly embarrassing, at least to her it was.

Adelaide chuckled when Angie commented on her parents seeing climbing trees as unlady-like. “I know exactly what you mean. I come from a respectable Cajun family, which only means something in Louisiana. Still, I’d get scolded for doing anything less than proper. I’d be scolded almost every day by nannies.” The redhead smiled. She wasn’t very lady-like in the slightest.
“Juggling was just another thing to keep myself from getting bored. It’s easy to learn. I’ll teach you sometime.” Juggling was simple and easy movement. Adelaide was sure that Angie wouldn’t be putting too much strain on her damaged body; it could even help a little.
Adelaide felt a little sad with the way Angie spoke in past tense most of the time. She felt like the blonde had given up on getting back to the way she used to be. “Did you like that? Keeping active?” Adelaide thought for a moment and elaborated. “I’m just wondering, because I could do with a little bit of activity. Doing some swimming would work well for me.”

Angie nodded to what the other girl said. ”Oh, well I think my parents think that having money equals having to have manners and well anything else they deem as respectable.” She paused. ”I had nannies that gave me etiquette lessons. And then my parents made me take them in some of the boarding schools I went to. I think I could throw a wedding for royalty or something.” She said with a sigh. Angie didn’t get along with her parents but she tried to what they asked to not do what they wanted meant a lot of being yelled at, which she got anyway. She was considering herself lucky that none of her roommates had been around when they called.
”Oh, that would be great. I’d like to learn it.” She did mean that.
Angie had pretty much decided she would just never be the way she used to. Whether that evaluation was correct wasn’t set in stone but it was the way the blonde felt. ”Yes. Don’t think I slowed down really except to sleep.” She joked but really she used to be much more active. Swimming… yeah….that was how this conversation started. ’Well, if you want we could …” realizing she should look at the clock. ”Go and get some dinner and then head to the pool.”

OOC: Again, sorry I took so long!
Adelaide smiled. It seemed Angie knew what she was talking about when it came to coming from a family in a high social standing. In Louisiana, people both worshiped and hated the Peyrouxs. Being wealthy and respectable made people think that Adelaide and her family believed themselves to be better than everyone else, but Adelaide didn’t feel that way at all. She was never ashamed to say her full name, because she would often challenge anyone who gave her a hard time, and eventually won them over with her friendliness. It was hard to been both looked up to and looked down upon, but she had lived a fairly good life. Everything she needed was given, but that didn’t stop her from trying to challenge her parents.
“Etiquette lessons? Man, that sucks. The worst I had was a nanny slapping me on the wrist for cussing. Etiquette lessons sounds like torture.” Adelaide grinned. “But then again, it looks like your lessons have worked. You’re way more polite than anyone else I know, which is a nice change. The boys back home would sooner cuss you out than say good morning.” She laughed.
Adelaide glanced at the clock and nodded. “That sounds great. I’m starving and I could do with a swim.” She hopped off her bed and went to her chest of drawers. The lime bikini was in there, along with a simple pair of jeans and a tank top. “You wouldn’t mind if I changed in here, would you?”
Adelaide changed in the dorm room often. She didn’t see a problem with other girls seeing her in her underwear, but she didn’t want do it if it would offend Angie.

Angie also never felt that she was better than anyone else because she had money. Actually, she usually felt like other people were better than her. She just went along with the etiquette lessons to please her parents. She had everything monetary wise that could ever want but there were other things lacking in her family.
”They were pretty bad to sit though. And usually those teachers were the strictest. “ Any little thing and it was trouble. She smiled at what the girl said next. ”I am? Well, thanks. I guess it’s just been ingrained in me now.” It wasn’t like the blonde thought about it for the most part. Angie realized she’d have to get changed as well. So, when Adelaide asked about it, the blonde shook her head. ”No. Actually, I have to get changed as well so ...” She was about to say she’d step into the bathroom but the other girl would be seeing her in a bathing suit soon enough so.. ”I get changed while you are.”

Adelaide nodded with a smile and turned back to her chest of drawers and pulled out the clothes she would change into. Angie said she didn't mind so the redhead didn’t hesitate in unbuttoning her shirt and pulling it off, dropping it to the floor. She kept her body faced towards her chest of drawers and pulled of her bra, quickly switching it for the lime green bikini top and yanked the red tartan tank top over her head. It only took another few moments for her to pull off her stockings and underwear and pull on her bikini bottoms and jeans, pulling the skirt off afterwards. Her school clothes lay in a pile on the floor, and Adelaide pulled out a clean pool towel from the bottom drawer.
She didn't know when Angie would be done changing, so until she said so, Adelaide busied herself fiddling with the random junk that littered the top of her chest of drawers.
“So, do you want to do laps, or just swim around a bit and see how you go?” She asked, pushing a marble around with her pointer finger.

Angie managed to get on bathing suit, a black two piece one. The fact it was two pieces might have surprised the knew how self conscious she was about her body but the blonde didn’t think she was in any way overweight (because she wasn’t) it was just the scars and those could be seen in one or two piece suits, so it didn’t really matter.
She slipped on what she would wear over it to go to the pool in and then grabbed a towel and spun around. Realizing she should say something but Adelaide spoke first. ”Oh, I think I should swim around and see how much I can do, this time. Then start with laps the next time we go.” It would be easier to judge that she wasn’t pushing too hard. ”I’m ready.” She then spoke up again. ”I sometimes push myself a little too much though, so, I give you permission to tell me to stop if you notice that I’m getting too tired.” It would be hard and a little tiring but she shouldn’t be in too much pain or exhausted at the end of it.

Adelaide turned to face her blonde companion, when she replied. She smiled at Angie’s next comment about stopping her when she looked tired. “Aye aye, skipper.”
The redhead bent down and picked up her pool towel, which she draped over her neck. “Shall we go then?” She opened the dorm room door for Angie and let her pass through. “I was thinking, stop me if I’m talking crazy, but I was thinking that we should break the rules more often.”
Adelaide began to walk down the corridor, holding her towel at each end. “I mean, we’re at a boarding school. We should be having midnight feasts of jam and cream scones. We should be throwing parties and being crazy.” The redhead grinned, as if suddenly realizing what she was saying. “Maybe I’ve been reading too many boarding school novels. I don’t know. I just feel like we should make the most of our time here, ya’ know?”

Angie couldn’t help but smile at the Aye aye, skipper. comment. She was even getting more of a feeling she made the right decision about asking Adelaide.
”Yes,” Was her response to the going. Angie got her own towel to take with her and headed out the door, waiting on the other side for the other girl to join her. Her blue eyes looked up towards her companion as the other girl talked about breaking the rules. Not sure what to say, she missed doing that sometimes but if she got expelled …the alternative was so horrible that Angie didn’t want to think about it.
She smiled though at the thought of midnight feasts and parties and such things. Though, she herself had broken the rules a few times since being here, it was usually to go walking when others were asleep because she couldn’t sleep or had had a nightmare and didn’t want to wake up her roommates. Somehow no one had found out…or at least Angie didn’t think so. ”No, the friends I used to hang out with use to break a few rules and sometimes it was fun. Though, getting caught was never fun but I kind of like the idea of the midnight feasts.” She said while walking along side the other girl.

Adelaide raised an eyebrow at Angie’s comment on her old friends. “These are the same friends who decided to ditch you after you came back to school?” She grinned. “If I throw a midnight feast, they won’t be invited.”
She did a half-skip forward as they walked down the corridor and continued. “I guess it was just because I had so much fun at the beach party last year. And the Christmas party was fun too. I just think we should do something like that again. Maybe something smaller, but with a higher risk of getting busted.” She thought for a moment. “I don’t know. I just feel like I’ve been focusing too much on getting my harp playing up to the level I want it. I mean, the Israel Harp Contest is at the end of 2012, so maybe I should relax a bit.”
She smiled, with a glint in her eye. “I’ve decided. I’m going to set something up.” Adelaide turned to Angie. “You’re invited.”

Angie nodded. ”Yes, the same ones.” It was a strange thing going from having a group of friends to almost none in the matter of a few months. Though what made it worse it was because of something Angie had had no control over. If the girl could have controlled what happened that day in the car it wouldn’t have happened at all. She smiled slightly at Adelaide’s next comment. With some very un- Angie like thoughts running though her mind …like if her former friends could have to smell the food but not be able to have any. It wasn’t really like her to be like that though. ”Okay, that sounds good.”
Angie listened to the redheaded girl speak and the idea did sound like a good one. ”Those were fun and I agree smaller would be better and sometimes it’s fun to just relax and break the rules. I’ve been focused on the art show in France that’s coming up in the summer and getting pieces done for it. “ They would need to be submitted soon. She didn’t add that getting herself into trouble could be a huge problem only because she doubted anyone would be suspended for this; unless there was alcohol involved. She was figuring loss of privileges or something along those lines was far more likely.
Upon hearing there would be something and Angie would be invited. ”Thanks. Let me know if you need any help.” She said as she continued towards the cafeteria.
