Angie looked out over the party. It was officially a success, the food was being eaten, the drinks (non-alcoholic, as far as she knew) drunk. People were dancing to the music from the DJ. Others were playing beach games.. Frisbee, or over at the volleyball net. Some were even braving the waters and of course some were just sunbathing or socializing. It had worked out really well.
She hadn’t not included anyone as basically anyone she invited was allowed to invite anyone they wanted. This got past any problems that might arise from the party excluding people. Unfortunately, though this meant some people she didn’t want to see had shown up as well but they weren’t bothering her so no problem.
A few people had wondered why she wasn’t wearing shorts or a bathing suit, Angie simply made up an excuse and went on about her way pretending to have some party things to look after. She had gone with a longer skirt and decent top. It looked right for a beach party but almost everyone had worn a suit, at least under their clothes, she wasn’t about to do that just to have people stare at her.
Angie heard a song come over the speakers and she nodded a thanks to the DJ, it was the song she had requested. A song that held certain memories for her. Everything seemed to be going just fine so she took this chance to walk down the beach a little a way from the festivities.

Adelaide Peyroux had arrived at the beach earlier than everyone else, and had made her rounds to almost everyone she knew. Finally, the redhead tired from socialising, spotted her blonde friend Angie, and began to walk over.
Adelaide knew the day was going to be beautiful, so she decided to dress to match the weather. The girl was wearing her usual lime green bikini, the bottom half covered with a short piece of black muslin, tied to make a skirt. Adelaide had tied her bright red hair up into a pony tail and had practically bathed in sunscreen, trying desperately to protect her pale skin from the sun's rays. All in all, she felt alright with the day, and it was just so warm that she had flipped off her flip-flops somewhere and was walking around barefooted, her green painted toes sinking into the sand as she walked.
"Angie!" Adelaide said, happily, as she came close to her friend. The redhead put her arm around the blonde girls shoulders. "You've done great. This party is amazing."
Adelaide hopped that Angie was having as good of a time as she was.

Upon hearing her name Angie stopped and spotted the familiar friend walking close to her. ”Thanks.” She smiled back at the other girl. ”I guess it worked out well.” Even if was slightly wondering why she thought this was a good idea in the first place. ”So, I was headed out to the jetty. Did you want to come?” It was obvious that the blonde was headed away from the party and really no one was out at the jetty. Things that never overwhelmed her before seemed to be almost too much for her now and the party might just have been a mistake to undertake on her end. Still, she couldn’t really admit that to anyone.

When Angie smiled, Adelaide smiled even more. She loved seeing her friends happy, and she'd seen Angie troubled more than once. It was nice to see a smile on her face.
"Yeah, I'd love to go to the jetty. I bet we'd have a great view of the whole beach from up there, huh?" Adelaide took her arm from Angie's shoulders and scratched her head. "I'm gonna have to find my flip-flops though. They're stuck somewhere in the sand, probably in that direction." Adelaide pointed toward a group of girls who she had only just met today.
"How about I meet you up there? In five minutes?" Adelaide smiled, sheepishly, embarrassed that she would make her friend wait.

”Yeah, the view from up there is amazing.” Angie said. Diving from there was really good as well but the blonde could not longer do that. Angie nodded when Adelaide mentioned needing to find her flip-flops. ”Okay, well, you might just catch up with me but I’ll just wait for you there if you don’t.” It was true that the other girl could go looking for her sandals, find them and still might be able to catch up the Angie as the girl just wasn’t walking that fast.
Angie started to make her way causally towards the Jetty. As the Jetty got closer the girl started thinking, thoughts that had plagued her mind since coming back. She was tired, emotionally and physically drained as she was starting to wonder if coming back had been a mistake. Though, it was either here or boarding school in the states, probably. And if her parents found out she was having problems…well….the outcome wouldn’t be good. Angie was certain of it.
