Please give us a sample of your writing in at least two (good sized) paragraphs and in character!
It was 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon, and Carmen was laying on her floor drawing. She’d been working on this particular piece for almost a week now. When she had started it the picture was just going to be a boy sitting on a bench. Somewhere in the week the picture had transformed into a lively picnic. The boy was still there although now he was surrounded by dragons, elves, and a very fat walrus like creature that Carmen had yet to make up a name for.
About three hours later Carmen was just putting the finishing touches on her picture. There was a knock on her door.
“Come in.” Carmen Shouted through the door
Her father opened the door and walked into the room. “What’s all this?” He asked, gesturing to Carmen’s Wardrobe which was scattered around the room. “I thought you said you were packed for School already.”
“I said I was working on it.” Carmen replied absently. “Then added I’ll be ready by the time we leave for the airport tomorrow, don’t worry.”
“And keep these blinds open, you need the sunlight. You’re pale like paper” Her Dad fussed, apparently finding her excuse acceptable. He opened the blinds and closed the door on his way out.
Carmen got up off her stomach and closed the window. People would watch her if it was open, they always were. Then she pinned her new piece to the wall with the rest and began the tedious task of packing her stuff.
