Felicity Skye bit her lip as she stared at the huge building stretched out in front f her. Her almond-shaped eyes scanned over the students who were doing their various errands and ignoring her, she felt the confidence begin to leak from her being, something she rarely felt. She shivered, pulling her white, lacy sleeves over her arms in a nervous habit.
She grabbed her two suitcases-which were obviously very heavy-and began to lug them toward the stairs, passing seas of unfamiliar faces. She hummed a tune underneath her breath, attempting to calm herself, so excited that she had been accepted to this elite academy.
Her arms were straining and burning beneath the thin layer of translucent skin hidden beneath the lacy top. She took a deep breath, plopping down on one of the steps for a break, brushing her silky hair behind her shoulders, and surveying the crowd.
Ugh...I really wish someone would stop to help me... She thought staring hopefully at the strange faces that passed her...

Carmen stood in the entrance to the school and looked form left to right slowly. She was trying to take in the whole room at once, and it wasn't what she expected. Carmen had imagined single story brick block with small, crowded, hallways, just like back home. This room was much larger and prettier then she had expected.
She wasn't carrying as much as most other people would have been. Packing a lot of things into a small space was something Carmen was very good at. She was only carrying a backpack full of clothes, a guitar on her back and briefcase in her left hand. The briefcase was by far the most important to her. She could live without her guitar or clothes, but losing the hundreds of pencil drawings she'd made over the past few years would kill her.
Peering through the crowd Carmen spotted a black haired girl who looked to be a few years older then her who was also carrying luggage. Carmen watched her for a few seconds as she built up courage to go talk to the other new girl. When the girl sat down on the stairs Carmen began to get ready to go talk to her. Nervously she adjusted her overly large T-shirt to make sure it was on right. Then Carmen checked right her arm to make sure the long, rainbow patterned glove was pulled up to her elbow. Her left arm was bare.
Carmen began timidly slipping her way through the crowd toward the black haired girl. When she arrived she set down her backpack and stood there for a moment before extending her gloved hand toward the other girl. "Umm... Hi. My name's Carmen. What umm... What's your name?" She mumbled in a quite timid voice.

Felicity had seen the small, blonde girl enter the building, looking also as though she was slightly new and lost. She also looked somewhat fascinated as though she'd expected something totally different.
She wasn't carrying as much as everyone else, all she had was a small backpack, a guitar and an important-looking briefcase. Maybe she was a student that returned after a long time? Felicity wasn't sure.
However, when the girl looked at her, she looked away quickly, acting as though she hadn't been staring, which-of course-she had been. A few moments later she heard footsteps, staring up as the girl spoke, extending and arm toward her.
Felicity smiled, all the confidence suddenly returning in a huge tidal wave. She shook the girl's hand standing up, coming to stand a few inches shorter than the girl, who was-obviously-younger.
"I'm Felicity, it's nice to meet you, Carmen." She said, giving the other girl's hand a gentle, dainty shake, and picking up her two brief cases.
"Now...do you know where the hell we're going?" She said with a melodic laugh. Beginning the awful trudge of the stone stairs again.

Carmen smiled a bit. She had been in France for only a few hours now and had already met someone. This was an achievement for Carmen because when she'd moved to new schools in the past it had taken her months to build up the courage to say hello to her classmates, so having just started a conversation with an older girl and gotten a response, she was very proud of herself.
As quickly as this new found confidence appeared, it was gone. Carmen was once again aware of the crowd of people behind her, and Felicity directly in front of her. She froze for a moment. She felt like the crowd of students behind her were all staring at her. She felt like they could here her every thought, as she was thinking very loudly. They could probably her her right now, as she tried to tell herself they weren't ass staring at her.
After a few long seconds of standing at the bottom of the stairs Carmen built up the pull the glove on her right hand back up to her elbow, swing her backpack up her arm and onto her shoulder and begin following Felicity up the stairs. Once Carmen was half way up the stairs she remembered the other girls question. "Sorry." She mumbled in a almost incoherent voice.

Felicity chuckled as Carmen caught up with her. "It's fine, really, I'm just as lost and homesick as you are." The older girl said, sympathetically. Then added, "I like that glove, by the way, I used to have one like it, but mine was hot pink." She said, flicking her head, to fix her hair again. She sighed, she knew she should've worn it in a bun.
She stopped at the top of the stairs, not knowing where to go next, she looked around her for Carmen, desperate for some sort of human interaction. "Where do we go now?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowing slightly.

Carmen smiled and pulled up her glove again. She had expected people to question her about it, which had worried her. That her new friend wasn't asking questions, and in fact liked the glove made the whole school seem more welcoming.
As she tried to remember the map she had been shown by her father, Carmen's brow furrowed a bit. She remembered the basics. The dorms were on the second floor, and the school had three floors, Or was there four? Regardless they were on the right floor that's all she knew. She directed her gaze to the floor again and said in her usual timid mumble "Umm... I don't know. Let's uhh... let's ask someone, I guess?"

Felicity grimaced. "I hope we get roomed together. I don't know ANYONE else here." She murmured, throwing her suitcase at the top of the steps, and stopping. She sat down out of the way of the stairs, staring at the school.
"What's your talent?" She asked, turning her head towards Carmen. Noticing that she was actually rather pretty, she smiled. She actually felt ugly in comparison to this much smaller girl.

Carmen swung her backpack to the ground and sat down on it. Then she put her briefcase on her lap and popped it open. "Aha, there it is" She whispered. Carmen removed an elastic band from her briefcase. She slipped it onto her right wrist, and again pulled up her glove before it could slide down to far. Then she rolled the elastic up to the end of the glove and left it there. "Oh... Sorry, I umm... Forgot you asked me... I draw. It's not really talent though, I'm not as good. You?" Carmen says, mumbling again.
