SPECIFICS
Gift/Talent:
[/li][li]Photography: Ellie has been taking pictures for ages. For every Christmas or birthday, she has asked for a different camera, or a trip to a location prime for pictures. She has two external hard drives that are quickly filling up with pictures. As of current, the cameras she uses are of the top three brands: a Canon EOS 7D, a Nikon F6 Film and a Sony a900 DSLR and a plethora of simple point and shoot digitals. She always has one of her professional grades and a P.A.S with her. If you sit still more more then three seconds, your picture will end up on a camera and then in a scrapbook somewhere. She takes pictures of everything throughout her day. She calls it her "documenting". And if a picture is worth a thousand words, then she has enough photographs to never speak again.
[/li][li]Painting/Drawing: She draws what she takes pictures of. No joke. She has upwards of thirty sketch books, all filled with drawings. And, of course, they came with her. She couldn't leave them at home. No,no, no, no. Those are her life. They will be staying with her. Drawing is an escape. A lot of her emotions are channeled into emotions, and that's pretty obvious. She makes it a goal to draw or paint something every day.
Likes:
-Art: art is her escape, her last resort. If she can't get it out in a journal, she paints, photographs or draws it.
-Coffee: Without it, her life would suck.
-Good books: Another escape. If her world isn't working, she'll find her way into another.
-Rain: The best thing to photograph, ever. Period.
-Portraits: There is so much that can be said of a person through a good portrait.
-Action/Romcoms: Laughing and fighting. They're nice to unwind with.
-The smell of lillies: Very relaxing. Especially after they have been rained on.
-Sasha Jakov: Her Boyfriend back in Saint Petersburg. Sasha is the best boyfriend ever. He sends her a letter almost every day, and she writes back. He is one of the few people she'll talk on the phone to. Sasha is also into Photography, and is currently a Photography major at Moscow State. They have been dating for two years. Their relationship has suffered some bumps, Sasha not liking the distance she goes for school, but Aleksei is confidant they will make it through.
Dislikes:
-Physical Contact Sports: She's an art student. Enough said.
-Artificial Sweetners: What in the hell is it anyway?
-Hot Days: Sticky and gross.
-Horror Films: She doesn't like getting scared, so why would she watch a movie that scares her?
-Pick Up Lines: Fastest way to get yourself punched in the face by a very calm woman. No joke.
-Social Norms: Aleksei is not normal in any way shape or form...
-Broken Cameras: They sorta break her heart. They look so depressed and unloved..
Strengths:
-General Kindness: Though she is quite quiet, she is a generally nice person. Keep on the very wide good side and you're home free. She likes friends, even if they just hang out and sit around rather then talk.
-Willingness: She'll do anything, as long as it falls within her normal rights/standards.
-Linguistics: She is no good at anything in a PE classroom, a math or science classroom or an English or history classroom. She is, however, fluent in Russian, English, French, Spanish and Czech. Don't ask where Czech came from.
-Budgeting: Her mother helped her with a budget sheet once, and she got it and stuck with it. She can make twenty one dollars last her an entire week with change to spare.
-Self Confidance: Aleksei is a girl who knows who she is. She is from a prominent Russian family that may have more curves then you are used to, but you can learn to deal.
Weaknesses:
-Snapping: Aleksei doesn't get angry at much, she is a very "go with the flow" type of gal, but when you tick her off, watch out, because it doesn't sit well with her. It takes a good deal to make her angry, but the phrase "flying off the handle" doesn't even come close.
-Quiet: Conversation is not something that she goes looking for. Russians are just like Italian families, only drunker. They talk all the time. It can be increasingly hard to pick up a conversation with her. Conversation for conversations sake doesn't suit her.
-Swearing: She swears. A lot. Lately, she has been trying to tame it, but they always tend to work their way through her teeth, no matter how tightly she grits them.
-Fears: Basic things like spiders and hights don't really bother her, she worries more about her family back in Russia, economics, and getting robbed or murdered more then she does freaking out about a spider.
-Grudges: She holds them for forever. Like an elephant. she never forgets.
Dreams/Goals:
Dream:
Goals: To move her family out of Russia to London or Paris.
Siblings: N/A

SAMPLE
Her frantic fingers found the envelope and tore it open. The letter. That one sheet of off white paper had her life hanging from it. She clutched it tightly, reading the scratchy handwriting of Sasha. She grinned, half squealed and bolted back into her room. Sitting cross legged on her bed, she poured over the letter, silently mouthing each word. She read the two pages quickly, her eyes twitching back and fourth.
"On tak sladko (He is so sweet)!" She laughed in Russian.
Sasha's charm made her squeal.
She instantly found her favorite purple pen and began writing back to him. She sat scribbling for a solid twenty minutes before the letter found itself addressed, in a new envelope and on its way back to Russia. Her footsteps skipped away from the post office as she headed back to the dorms. She felt a giddy rush of joy as she walked, feeling warm air across her face, the weight of a camera on her neck and the familiar crunch of gravel under her feet. She loved it here. The vast campus spread out in front of her as she made her way back to the dorms, skipping down steps and across wide grassy fields. She skirted groups of students hauling massive suitcases up the smooth stone steps and slid through the big glass doors of the dining hall. There were a few students there, silently munching on midday snacks and talking quietly among themselves. A few nodded a hello or two, while others didn't seem to even notice she existed. Which was fine by her. Humming carefully to herself, she found herself back in the halls, picking out the ways she would have to go to get to classes and eventually finding herself back in the CAPA hall. She entered her single room and pulled a suitcase out from under her bed. Inside were sketch and note books, pencil cases and of course, her cameras. She carefully placed the camera around her neck back into the suit case and selected a sketch book. After pushing the suitcase back under the bed, she found herself sitting in a chair, staring out the window, trying to think of something to draw. She tapped her fingers against the edge of the book and rolled strands of caramel and sunshine colored hair between her fingers. What to draw... She pursed her lips and looked over to her orange iPod sitting on the desk. Music shouldn't hurt. The small device soon found itself plopped in her lap and turned on. Music inspired her. Calm music. Electronica music. Fun, upbeat music. Nothing grinding or whiny. That just annoyed her...
