The summer was a long one for Mr Clive Hemingway; he'd sold his house, moved into another one, picked up an second job at the cafe around the corner from his house and had to burry his 12 year old cat, Fred. It wasn't the most enjoyable summer he's spent at home, but it gave him time to sort life out and organise his mind, which was long overdue. In his organisation, Clive had arrived overly prepared for classes in his fifth year of teaching at Desrosiers' School for the Gifted and Talented; a folder set out in the staff room for each of his classes, highlighters, insane amounts of pens and pencils, and stacks of manuscript, which probably cost about 20 threes to produce. It was ridiculous, really.
After collecting up his year 10 music class folder, three pens and a handful of manuscript, Clive made his way into the theory classroom 5 minutes before the start of class, setting out his belongings on his desk, ready for class. He picked up a whiteboard marker and wrote his name in the top left hand corner of the whiteboard for those who weren't familiar with him. After doing so, Clive sat down at his desk and watched the clock, each stroke of the second hand painful to hear, the time moving slowly.
After a few seconds of this, Clive stood back up and made his way to a small cupboard at the front of the classroom which had a small stereo sitting on top of it, two wires running from behind the stereo up to two speakers mounted on the front wall, facing the desks. Clive pulled a CD out from the cupboard underneath and placed it in the CD player and hit 'play'. The song that graced his ears was Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu, a beautiful piano piece which Clive very much admired. He pressed the small 'repeat' button and returned to his seat, awaiting his student's presence whilst he listened to one of his favourite songs.

Adelaide stood up from the breakfast table she sat at, quickly downed the rest of her coffee, and bid goodbye to the few girls who remained at the table. It was a pretty interesting morning, but the redhead was ready to actually learn. She was pumped to get to her classes and figure out how she could push the teachers to their limits, find out what she could get away with, stuff like that.
The girl pulled her hood up, shoved her hands into the green-and-black striped hoodie's pockets and walked out of the dining hall, taking wide, but slow and haphazard steps, obviously away with the fairies. She wandered up to the second floor and weaved between the other students, all of which decided that rushing around was the best way to travel.
Eventually, Adelaide came across the room that she had stuck her harp into, and swung open the door, letting it bang into the wall.
The teacher was already there, sitting in his chair and listening to some classical music and looking serene, so in true Louisiana fashion, Adelaide decided to cause some chaos.
"SIR!" She shouted, as if the music was so loud she thought he wouldn't be able to hear her. "SIR! IS THIS THE CLASSROOM FOR YEAR 10 MUSIC?! I'VE BEEN LOOKING AROUND FOR HOURS! SIR! WHERE SHOULD I SIT?! SIRRRRR! WHY AREN'T YOU SAYING ANYTHING SIR?!!! CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND MY ACCENT, SIR?!"
Adelaide Peyroux grinned to herself and waited to see how the teacher would react.

Clive began to make himself comfortable, putting his feet up on his desk and crossing them over in a casual fashion. He kept his arms crossed over his chest as he sat diagonally facing the seats, the classroom door and front wall to his left, the sound from the speakers seeping out quite calmly, filling his ears and mind with the beauty that was Chopin.
After a few more minutes of relaxation, the bell sounded and Clive watched the door, awaiting his class' entrance. After a few minutes the door swung open and slammed against the classroom wall, causing the speakers to shake. Clive's eyes widened slightly, but wasn't all that surprised due to the fact that music was generally the most rowdy class in the school. Clive continued to watch the door as a girl with a green and black striped hoodie entered the room, looking around expectantly and somewhat excited. Before he could say a word the girl was yelling, her Southern accent strong, yet understandable. Clive couldn't help but stifle his laughter as he looked at the girl, raising one eyebrow slightly.
"No, I can understand you very well," Clive said in a calm, rather opposite tone to her's, while a small grin sat on his lips. 'Please take a seat where ever you like while we wait for the rest of the class.'
Clive remained where he was sitting, not at all phased by the girl's entrance, used to the strange behaviour that the girl displayed.

Adelaide was a little upset that Mr. Hemmingway didn't react, but she was determined. These young types always believed they could control any kid, but Adelaide wasn't any kid. She took note of his name, and pulled out her iPod. After making a big show of putting the earbuds in, she cranked Skillet's "Rebirthing" ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6obINPvZtg) as loud as it could go and made an even bigger show of putting her bag at a table at the bag. Adelaide took giant strides, dancing a little, to the back of the room where her harp was placed in the storeroom and quickly pulled it out, took of it's case, and sat. The redhead noted that other kids were starting to enter the room, yet her iPod thundered over their voices, and she joined in on the harp. It was only a matter of time before she influenced the other students to grab instruments and join in. If she knew anything about music, she knew that it was irresistable. Adelaide glanced at Mr. Hemmingway, giving him a smirk that said, " And this isn't even the best I can do."

Clive understood what the red headed girl was doing, he'd spent the last ten years teaching and the last five at Desrosiers', and he'd experienced many difficult students, and he wasn't going to let this girl get the better of him. He kept his feet on the desk as more students walked in, smiling warmly and asking them to be seated. Most of them sat down right away, others looked around and chatted to each other. The music continued to filter through the room, but the girl's headphones were ruining it slightly. The fast buzzing off the incredibly loud song she was listening to was distracting, but that just only forced Clive to concentrate on Chopin even more so.
"Please take a seat everyone and get your books out ready for work," Clive announced over the beautiful song that was still playing through the stereo and also over the loud head phones, not at all bothered if the red headed girl heard him or not, she'd eventually learn. "We'll wait a few more minutes for the rest of the class to join us."
