Angelina had been back to school for a while now. She had moved into the dorm room with those other girls. Physical therapy was going all right. Emotionally she was coping, as well as could be expected. She had been called into speak to a counselor and some of the school higher ups wanted her in therapy but they had nothing to really base that decision on and after speaking to the counselor managed to get out of it. Even if she was lying though part of it. Though, the girl had become really good at hiding her emotions and acting like everything was fine.
Physically she had good days and bad days. The good had outnumbered the bad and she hadn’t really had a really bad day… well, not until today. This morning the girl lay in bed starring at the ceiling. She could just lay there all day, not get up and miss class and let her teachers know tomorrow it was because of the pain. Her teachers already knew about the accident and she had a built in excuse but Angie hated to have to use it.
She slowly sat up, every muscle in her body felt like it had either run a marathon or been hit by a truck. Granted she had had physical therapy yesterday and was always slightly sore the next day but this was beyond that. It took the blonde a while but she managed to get up and get dressed. Taking some of the pain medication she had, she sat back down on the bed and waited for it to take affect. After about thirty minutes, the medication kicked in but only to a point.
Closing her eyes, the girl took a deep breath….how was she ever going to get through the day like this?

Adelaide had left the dorm before every other girl that morning, which she believed to be a miracle, and had gone downstairs to grab a cup of coffee. Just as she was about to go off to class, she had decided to run back up to the dorm to change her skirt to a pair of jeans, a decision that proved worthwhile, as when she opened the door to the supposedly empty dormroom, she was met with the sight of Angie.
Adelaide and Angie hadn't really spoke much, except when with the other girls, so Adelaide considered just changing her jeans and leaving; she had to get to class, after all. But for some reason, the way Angie was sitting, and the expression on her face, made Adelaide walk into the room and stand next to the blonde.
"What's up, pudding cup?" Adelaide asked in her most comforting voice. It was obvious that something was wrong, pain, she guessed, and there was no way she was going to leave a fellow CAPA. Adelaide knew what it was like to be in pain. When she was thirteen, she was left hanging from a tree over Granger's bayou, only holding with her left leg for hours, waiting for help to arrive.
Adelaide gently laid her hand on Angie's head.

By the time Angie had managed to pull herself to awake all the other girls had gone. Which was a good thing, as Angie really, didn’t like people seeing her like this. And a bad thing, as if she really couldn’t go to class it would be easier to pass on the message if someone had still been in the room.
She could barely bring herself to look up as the door opened. But she watched as Adelaide came into the room, she said nothing; half wishing the girl to leave her in her misery and half wanting the girl to stay. Angie had nothing against Adelaide but they hadn’t spoken too much outside of being around the other girls, of course, that would be hard to do when you live with so many roommates.
If Angie hadn’t been feeling so bad being called pudding cup would have brought a smile to her face. As the other girl asked, she was glad the other girl had come in when she did. ”I guess I’m just having a particularly bad day with the pain.” She paused. ”I got dressed but I don’t think I can make it to class.” The girl spoke honestly, after all, she had months to spend with this girl and lying seemed really pointless at this moment, being the pain was probably more than obvious. But she did speak with not a single poor me inflection in her voice, just matter of fact. This is what was happening at this time, after all.
There had been other days when Angie had been in pain but she never mentioned it, never had skipped class because of it and never let it interfere with her day. This pain was just so much worse that she couldn’t do that right now. The gentle touch from the other girl made her feel a little better at least in a sense of being comforted, even if the pain was still there.

"I understand." Adelaide replied, honestly. She removed her hand and went into mother-bird mode. "Get back into your PJs, and get into bed. Take it easy today and I'll tell your teachers you aren't feeling good. I'll bring you up some lunch at lunchtime, and make sure you're still okay. Heck, you might even feel better by then. But still, I'll go and tell the secretary at the Headmaster's office and she'll pass on the message."
Adelaide hoped that she hadn't gone overboard, but reassured herself that Angie needed someone at the school who she could trust to help out in situations like this. The redhead herself had good days and bad days. It always helped to know someone was there.
"Have you eaten yet?" She asked.

The girl briefly, very briefly, thought about trying to fake it but that thought was fleeting as she moved slightly and felt the pain all over again. Instead she looked at Adelaide ”Are you sure it won’t be too much trouble?” She didn’t want to put the redhead out though at this point even Angie realized she needed someone to help her out. It was just the relying on others really wasn’t something the girl was used to having to do.
Angie was having problems getting back off the bed to get back into her pj’s. She was still sitting there when the other girl asked if she had eaten. ”No, I haven’t.” She hadn’t eaten anything and was thinking maybe she should but she also didn’t want to make the other girl any later for class than she was probably going to be already.

Adelaide let out a small chuckle when Angie asked if it wasn't too much trouble.
"You really think I'd oppose to going in late to class? Me? Really?" She said, standing up and going over to her bag. "Have you eaten yet?"
”No, I haven’t.” Angie replied.
Adelaide frowned a little. "I'll grab you something while I'm down in the office. My first class is on this floor anyway, so it won't be any trouble bringing you some food. But right now," She said, slinging her bag over her shoulder and walking to the door, pausing to turn around. "get back into bed. If you can't get into your pyjamas, that's fine, but just get back in."
Adelaide finally gave her roommate a big Louisianan smile, and left to go help her friend.

”Well, not really.” Angie honestly didn’t think that the other girl minded being late to class. ” If you tell the office your helping me out they might excuse you. They know about my accident.” She knew she would be excused but couldn’t be sure about Adelaide, though really Angie couldn’t see why the other girl wouldn’t be excused. ”Thanks.” She responded, really grateful for Adelaide helping her out. ”Not too much food though, don’t think I could eat very much.” Once the other girl left, Angie managed to very slowly get out of her clothes and back into her pj’s and back into bed, as ordered by the Adelaide. It though, Angie realized, was an order between friends. She tried to close her eyes and go back to sleep for a short time but her body hurt too much for that. So, she sort of lay there starting at the ceiling, trying to think of anything but the pain.
