It was already late afternoon when Eric finely arrived at Desrosier’s school. He had been only been there once before, to have a tour of the school and meet the headmaster, soon after he had enrolled. However due to the act he had enrolled during the last term, he decided it would be easier to just start there at the beginning of the new academic year. He removed his reading glasses and placed them, with his copy of the Iliad, into his hand luggage as the taxi parked in the impressive driveway. He smiled as he exited the vehicle, as long as his grades were outstanding there was no way any decent university could resist him after attending a school with a reputation like Desrosier’s, or so was Eric’s opinion. Personally he had his eyes on Oxford or Cambridge, although he would settle for Warwick or Durham if anything did not go according to plan. There was a pleasant smell in the air from a nearby rose trellis which Eric took a few moments to admire before picking up his two cases and heading inside.
After a few minutes of manoeuvring through the heavy doors with two heavy suitcases he was free to admire the entrance hall. Eric had been fascinated with the building ever since his tour, the Victorian gothic architecture was simply breath-taking in his opinion. After spotting a fascinating piece of masonry from the 12th century, that had obviously been bought or stolen from an earlier building, Eric spent the rest of the afternoon happily admiring it whilst obliviously causing an obstruction on the stairs for some time.
