Eric loved photographs. He had spent many a happy summer or Christmas holiday trawling through the family albums, looking for pictures of his living and deceased relatives. Now he found himself standing in an empty, rather chilly, corridor admiring the various pictures of past school sports teams and class photos. He wondered to himself whether they were all alive now and how their lives had planned out after living here, mainly whether they had been happy or not. It had already been an hour and he'd only made it halfway up the corridor, a faint smile plastered upon his vacant face as his mind played out a mini film in his head of each of the faces lives.
The corridor echoed with the sound of Eric's phone vibrating as a text arrived, which he chose to ignore. It buzzed again but Eric only sighed, continuing to try and block the sound out of his ears. He knew already who it was and what they wanted, so letting them ruin his fun seemed unwise.

Henry stopped abruptly. The silence of the corridor had been interrupted by the harsh echoing of something vibrating. His ears pricked up, he listened to the regular beating that the vibration managed to make. Deciding he couldn't properly identify the source, he, after returning to a normal stature, turned about him, looking for possible options.
Standing around half-way down the corridor behind him was another male student facing towards the walls, seemingly admiring the pictures of the previous sports teams. Unlike his encounter with the girl in the dungeons, Henry felt a little more confident, and much less embarrassed, mainly because he wasn't sitting in the middle of the dungeon corridor, in the dark with a flashlight and his suitcase, looking obviously lost. So, Henry approached the boy, his hands in his pockets, and having forgotten about the vibration which now just seemed like background noise.
"Hi," he called out as he approached the boy.

Eric almost jumped out of his skin when he heard the greeting from his fellow student. He hadn’t even noticed the boy walk by let alone enter the corridor so hearing a voice suddenly was quite a shock, Eric had for a split second thought it had been a ghost or something and had thought he was losing his marbles. This thought would be most distressing as Eric prided in the fact that his family had a perfect record for mental health and so to suddenly develop paranoid schitzophrenia, or something similar, would be utterly depressing. The only recorded case in his family had been of an uncle to a man who had married into the Ludington’s and who fortunately for Eric wasn’t a blood relative.
He took a few deep breaths to calm his nerves before turning to the student and with a polite smile said, “Good morning, is there anything I can help you with?”, assuming the male required assistance with directions or finding a lost item. Eric couldn’t think of any other reason why the male would talk to him, besides he had a rather lost look about him.

Henry smiled; it had appeared that he had made a good start to the relationship. The boy had replied in quite a formal, polite way that didn't subtly communicate "Leave me alone" or "What the hell do you want?" and to Henry that meant that the boy was just as pleased to have someone to speak to him. Continuing his smile, Henry replied to the boy's question, with one of his own.
"Was that your phone or something?" he shrugged his shoulders, "Only I thought I heard a vibration and it quite shocked me to the core, I wasn't expecting a sound and there it was"
It was true - the corridors were usually quite empty at this time of morning, mainly because people were in class, sleeping or eating, whereas Henry had not yet received his timetable, and was certainly not hungry. His stomach was quite content with the chocolate he had stuffed himself with in the early hours, before returning to sleep. Hunger came before a balanced diet, let alone a healthy and regular one, in his opinion.

"Hm? oh um yes that is my phone" Eric said sheepishly, he didn't know why but he somehow felt that ignoring it had been some kind of act of deviance, for which he was now in trouble "Sorry if it caused you any inconvenience, I just...well I didn't feel like answering it". He shrugged a little when he gave his explanation. Suddenly feeling the need to check, Eric reached inside his pocket and scanned the screen, reading the name of the sender. As he predicted, it was Penelope. Replacing the phone into his pocket, Eric continued, "So have you been here long? I myself have only been here about two days, just been acquainting myself with some old photographs".

Gaia walked down what she guessed was the ground floor corridor, she wasn’t sure. Oh how she loathed this place already, the giant size of it seemed fine but the fact that there were more than six people living in it (Minus helpers) struck her as incompetent. She walked with pride, lifting her head slightly (Not so much it looked idiotic) and placing her hands behind her back. As she walked she could hear voices, it wasn’t so much later that she could see two figures, as she got closer she could make out that the noise was in fact, two boys.
The male closets to her, had long blond hair, she could not see his face. But she saw the face of the boy furthest away from her and she froze. He looked... only what she could describe: brilliant, amazing, and oh so definitely handsome. She froze, her mouth hung open a bit as if in a state of awe. she watched him smile and it made her gasp, she had no idea why. Then she shook her head, getting out of the daze before they could see her and before she made a fool of herself Get a hold of yourself Gaia, you're not the type to go gaga. She paused and looked him over once more, scrunching her face in slight disgust He looks like a tramp anyway. Probably no money and only came here because of his talent. She snickered to herself What ever that talent may be Deciding he wasn't worth it, or even more so, not worth her. She composed herself and ignored the thoughts in her head.
She continued to walk making no attempt to have any eye contact what so ever, and then something on the wall caught her eye. She stopped and had a look at what it could be. Soon she found out it was a very beautiful necklace. There was a big sun emblem at the end with a sort of gold tint trim around the edge. The top was covered in what looked like tiny diamonds, but she couldn’t be sure. It was behind a very thick piece of glass and she could see her reflection, it lined her up perfectly so it looked like she was wearing the necklace in the reflection. Amazed by the beauty, she decided to continue to admire it. But not so her nose was pushed against the glass, she was very moderate and made sure not to make a fool of herself, especially since there were people around.

The boy answered Henry promptly, proving his suspicions, if you can call them that, that the vibration had come from a phone before proceeding with the chit-chat that usually followed an awkward moment. Henry, who was never so good at the idea of chatting, almost froze on the spot, his voice coming to a stutter where he found it difficult to work the response. It was almost as if he had forgotten every word in the English language. It was this particular thought that made him suddenly come out with Italian, the exact moment that a girl passed by, stopping at a nearby necklace and appearing to admire herself as if she were wearing it.
Ignoring the strange image that girls were, he stuttered his reply, in a tongue that neither really understood "E-er, w-well, n-no. I, e-er, only started, like, l-like, y-y-yesterday." His confidence, seemingly randomly shattered, was brought upon by both the possibility of a friendship, and also of the presence of a girl. He preferred that unemotional level that he was able to make during public speeches, rather than telling someone more about you than even your mother knew.

Eric blinked; the boy had suddenly switched to using Italian. "Um I'm sorry but I don't understand Italian" He said, rather puzzled by the males strange behaviour. He turned and noticed a girl admiring some jewellery. "Excuse me, do you speak Italian?" He called to the girl, "I'm not sure this student speaks fluent English and I think he wants help with something". Language barriers had been a concern of Eric's since he found out the school was in the south of France. Not because of the French, he was actually almost fluent in French, but for the neighbouring countries such as Spain and Germany since he spoke neither language and expected that there would be students from both countries attending.

Gaia was brought out of her thoughts by the talking of the boys once more, she listened but couldn't make sense of it, but she heard stuttering and scoffed. Then it seemed one of them was talking to her, she glanced and found it was the attractive one. He was asking if she could speak Italian. She inwardly rolled her eyes, and unintentionally spoke rudely towards him "Do I look Italian?" She spoke, but not wanting to lose her pride or feel embarrassed, she decided to hide her surprise at her own rudeness.
Then looked at the boy and folded her arms and turned her head "He looks nervous" she stated. She waited to be told she was rude, the same lecture she heard from most people. But he looked like if he could be, was a bit of a snob, she knows she shouldn't judge, but she always did.

Henry looked around, panicking at the beginnings of what seemed a minor argument between the girl he wished not to speak to, and the boy he had originally approached. Now he just wanted to subtly and slyly evaporate, but seeing as he was the subject of the conversation, it was almost impossible to do so. The Italian that had left his mouth had somehow fooled the two other students in to believing he was not fluent in the English language, strange seeing as he had spoken with the boy in English.
Opening his mouth to say something, he stuttered, an "I-I" before shutting it again, deciding he still did not have the social capacity to maintain a conversation. Instead, he took a step backwards, and looked on at the two discussing him.

Eric raised an eyebrow at the girl's comment and was about to say something before she pointed out that he looked nervous. His gaze returned to the stuttering boy, he did look as though he had a nervous disposition in Eric's opinion. "Are you alright?" he asked, starting to wonder if the boy was experiencing some sort of panic attack, "Take deep breaths and try to relax". Eric was no expert at helping people experiencing panic attacks, but he had heard that encouraging them to breath helped.

Gaia was expecting some sort of criticism from the boy, but received no such thing, he seemed to just dismiss it. She stood there watching what was unfolding in front of her, wondering if she could be bothered to stay or if she actually wanted to leave. For some reason, she felt compelled to get some sort of response from the boy.
She came up with an idea and decided to act upon it. She smirked and made it obvious she chuckled slightly, turning her head, not trying very hard to hide it. She had a feeling since this boy was compelled to help the stuttering one, he might get angry if she mocked him.

Each of the pair had noticed his stumbling of words, and were now looking on at him. The boy whom was obviously quite concerned was suggesting some sort of remedy he might have read off the back of a milk carton, but it was still more useful than the girl who was just looking on, smirking and chuckling at what he could call, his misfortune.
Henry ignored the girl; he would get round to her later. He faced the boy and took the words kindly, and although the remedy may not be best for the situation, he humored the boy and breathed in through his nose and out of his mouth, suddenly gaining some kind of confidence and strength, eventually coming to terms with the company.
"Thank you," he said to the boy, smiling kindly, "As for you, don't think that I didn't notice you chuckling."
He turned and glared at the girl; she was lucky he wasn't tired and lost, or she would probably have felt the same wrath as that girl, Angie, had felt the other night.

"No problem, glad it helped" Eric said, before letting out a yawn, "Excuse me", it had been a long morning for Eric considering that he had had no more than two hours sleep and no breakfast. He looked round and examined the girl; she puzzled him somewhat as to why anyone would laugh at someone stuttering. Eric found it rather irritating, hence the eagerness to help out. She seemed normal enough, although Eric had always found it hard to judge women's character.
There was clearly tension between the boy and the girl so Eric decided to break the ice with the most boring and generic thing he could think of. "So what are your names?" He asked, shifting his eyes back and forth between the two.

Gaia looked up, narrowing her eyes at the boy who spoke to her, the one stuttering. How dare he have the nerve to talk to her like that? Well no way was she going to accept that kind of talk “Oh what don’t you go cry in a corner if your that upset” She scoffed.
Not soon after had the other boy began to talk; she looked at him and smiled, A boy with manners, nice. She nodded “I’m Gaia, and may I ask of your name?” She queried with him. He must see the good in people before judging them; she sometimes wished she could do that. But first impressions were indeed the lasting ones in her case.

Henry turned back to the boy, gifting him with a quick smile, before, without hesitation, returning his gaze to the girl, who had responded in a not so polite manner. It appeared that she was consistent in her feelings. In fact, the words and expression she used were so provocative, that Henry found himself hard-pushed to not respond in a similar manner. She turned back to the boy and stated her name, Gaia
"heh. What a stupid name?" he muttered under his breath, "What are you, some character from a fantasy video game?"
He scoffed, "I'm Henry. Normal and whatnot."
He smiled at the girl, provoking a response.

Eric let out a sigh in his head. The plan to release tension had back fired, now things were more awkward. The Henry and Gaia were not getting along and Eric found himself stuck in the middle. Whilst he thought of an escape plan from this situation, he decided to attempt to preoccupy the other two with small talk.
"Nice to meet you both" he said, "I'm Eric, so what are you both here for? I'm here for History and because I can't stand to be around my father and sister any more, how about yourselves?”.
After realising what had been spoken, Eric blinked, unsure of why he had mentioned his family. He shrugged it off and went back to planning his great escape.

Gaia glanced at the boy who decided it was a good idea to mock her name and all she could do was scoff, but she couldn’t help it, she began laughing. She turned to the boy now known as Henry and smirked at him “What? Are you 3?” She chuckled “Your seriously going to mock my name” Grinning from ear to ear “You are as stupid as you look. I really hope your not here academically, you’d fail in an instant, just by repeating your name” She scoffed again.
Raising her eyebrows she stated calmly to him “Unless I could talk before I was born” Pausing she clarified a point “oh and just so you know, my name was chosen before I was born” Smirking she continued with her previous sentence “And unless I chose my name, I think then I would be slightly insulted” She smiled “Because lets face it, why would a lowly person like you, have an opinion that mattered to me” she rolled her eyes “Oh and if you really have a problem with my name, take it up with my parents” shaking her head slightly in a manner that suggested exactly what she said “Because I really don’t care” smirking once more.
After which she turned to the more polite boy and smiled, “Well I’m here for Art, and because I was forced, since I had no choice” She sighed “And I guess we are some what similar, I wanted to get away from my mother and father” She smirked politely, waiting for a response.

Eric smiled awkwardly when Gaia said they had something in common, he had no idea how to respond to that so he went with is old tactic of just smiling along with things. "Either of you in the academics classes? if so which?" He asked, curious as to whether either of them would be seeing him on a daily basis, "I am, I'm taking the History classes and some others, i forget which". He thought for a moment trying to remember the other subjects that were on his timetable.
After a minute he gave up and instead spent the time trying to recall the name of the artist who sang L.e.s artistes.

Henry shrugged at the girl's statement. The hypocrisy that she had just revealed was in its own way a revelation of truth, but the fact that he had identified it fought at the statement. It was confusing, but either way, the fact that the girl was also a CAPA student meant that the statement about being stupid could easily be applied to her as well. And, Henry, having picked up on the fact, decided that it was probably true about her, and left it at that. He could tell that the other boy was getting a bit restless, upset and awkward with the conversation and the small argument between the two of them.
He turned to the boy now, smiling. "Apologies for that little spat. I'm also a CAPA student, preferring to take Dance myself. I'm interested in History myself, but I preferred to take the dancing route instead. Not that I wouldn't be fascinated to learn what you will learn yourself." He smiled and nodded, "I quite like the classics. The Odyssey is quite a brilliant book. Homer, such a brilliant orator. Don't you just find it fascinating that his story was one that was passed on down by mouth until it reached someone who could record the trajedy?"
He sighed in amazement at the subject, completely forgetting about the dispute.
