Gaia had told her maid that she wanted to take a short cut to the school; however the maid did not know that Gaia was making excuses so she didn’t have to go. They ended up in Paris and stayed there for what seemed like forever to the maid, where as Gaia was having the time of her life painting the perfect Paris scenery. After about 4 and half weeks, Margery found the shortest route and was determined to get the young Miss Waverly to her destination. Frustrated she rushed the girl out and to the dorm.
Gaia had only recently arrived and had been shown round the campus as well as being taken to the second floor to her dorm. When they left her to open to door to her dorm area, she was bemused to the fact that there would be others staying with her. Her eyes widened and she stood in front of the door, blocking it, her bags scattered around her feet. The door shut with a slight bang and brought Gaia back into reality, she blinked and quickly got out her cell phone and stood in the middle of the room, it was midday and she expected all the other’s to be at classes. She left her bags in front of the door, very close to the area in which it needed to open fully, possibly making it impossible to open.
Gaia stood chewing on her thumb nail (But not biting it off) and the phone up against her ear “Mama! Yes I don’t understand you didn’t mention I would be sharing” her face was in shock and awe “But, Mama. These people are below me” She heard the response of her mother, pulling the phone away slightly as her mother began to shout “But –“she got cut off and her face fell as she could feel pricks of water at the corners of her eyes “Yes Mama” she slightly nodded “Okay B-“But before she could finish the phone hung up. She pulled the phone away from her ear and looked at it, as if it were something she had never seen before. A tear formed and fell from her eyes, startled she quickly closed the phone and narrowed her eyes, placing the phone in her pocket, she wiped the tear away. Quickly she crossed her arms and sharply turned her head to the window as the light shone through, warming up the floor she was standing on and her body.

Midday meant that Angie had a free period to go and get some more medication as it was about now they started wearing off. It was the same most days. Wake up, pills, get ready, breakfast, classes, pills, lunch, more classes, dinner, after dinner, homework, then either more pain pills or sleeping pills and bed. She sometimes wondered if maybe she shouldn’t be taking the pills so often but the pain without them was unbearable most days.
Making her way up the dorm room, there had been talk that they were getting a new roommate today but she had to wonder if the girl was really coming. She got to the correct floor and then the correct room. First trying the door to see if it was unlocked which it was, it was possible someone was in there or maybe someone forgot to lock it. Pushing on the door, though, only managed to open it slightly. Tried again, a little further but still, obviously something was blocking the door.
”Hey,” She said upon thinking she heard someone in the room. ”Do you think you could move whatever is blocking the door?” She asked in a polite way. Angie usually tried to start out polite and nice to people, maybe the person didn’t realize the door was blocked. The least she could do was give her the benefit of the doubt.

Gaia got startled once more, but this time by the sound of a female voice, she turned to the door seeing it a jar slightly, then seeing the bags. She sighed and dropped her arms by her side, muttering words like she couldn’t be bothered with this at the moment, and “Damn, why did she have to be nice” but only in a bare whisper, if you did hear it, it would sound like a load of rubbish.
When she got to her bags, she kicked a couple of the small ones out of the way and grabbed the two larger ones and moved them to where the smaller ones had been scattered. This now allowed the door to open. Gaia walked away from the bags and to the window to look outside, but not before glancing at the girl and nodding towards her, to show she had acknowledged her presence.

Angie heard nothing until the sound of bags being moved. She opened the door. ”Thanks.” She said to the girl standing in the room.
Many years of moving from school to school and being forced to attend various society parties and being punished or at least talked down to when she couldn’t remember a name had caused the girl to learn to remember or try to, to everyone she ever met. It sounded ridiculous but by now it was just something she did.
Though, her mind was more on getting her pills than noticing the new girl standing in the dorm room. She offered a nod back when the girl nodded towards her and went to get her pills out of the box locked in her drawer. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust her roommates but it was the only way the school would allow her to keep them in her room. She swallowed two pills, with the soda she had brought with her and looked back towards the girl.
”Well, you must be the new room….” But the rest of that statement escaped her as she realized, she thought… no, she did …. Angie knew this girl. Where from? Parties. Her name? It was something usual started with a G? Party = Gala. No, her name wasn’t Gala but … Ga.. ”Gaia? Gaia Wavely?” In a little bit of shock this girl she knew was here. ”You probably don’t remember me. But it’s Angelina Morrison.” It had been a while and it wasn’t as if most people remembered who they met at a few random parties.

Gaia kept glancing away from the window to watch the girl take something that looked like tablets; she couldn’t be bothered to figure out what it was. The girl began to talk so Gaia kept her eyes on her, so not to seem to rude, but kept her body facing the window, her hands gracefully placed behind her back. The girl began to talk but then stopped abruptly.
Confused, Gaia turned her whole body to face the girl and watched, then turned her head to the side and rolled her eyes at the sudden stop, that had no explanation. The girl began to talk again and Gaia faced her once more, her hands still behind her back. She nodded when the girl said her name, stating that it was indeed her. When the girl said her own name, Gaia didn’t recognise it, but made like she remembered her “Ahh, Miss Morrison. How do you do?” she replied nodding a little lower with a bit more grace.

She had to admit it had been a while since they had seen each other. Gaia asking how she was doing was almost a give away that she didn’t remember her as most of the people in that circle of society had heard about the accident tended to start conversations with her by saying how sorry they were for her loss. Frankly, it was almost nice to not start the conversation that way. Though, she also figured that maybe this girl hadn’t heard, though theirs was a small circle and news traveled or that Gaia had, perhaps, not put the name and situation together. Any of those were possibilities.
”Umm… I’m all right. You?” She asked as was the polite response. ”So, what are you majoring in here?” She didn’t’ know Gaia well enough to know that answer.

Gaia had noticed a sort of uncertainty in the girl’s voice as she spoke, mostly due to the hesitation at the beginning of her response. But never the less she ignored it and answered Angie “I’m well… enough” She whispered the last part since she didn’t consider the predicament that she was in, fine at all.
She continued listening to the girl’s next question and sighed “In Art” she looked around, the back at the girl, something about her made Gaia froze, as if she was remembering something, she narrowed her eyes and slowly spoke “What…about…you?” Asking a question while trying to remember.
A second past and everything came back to her “Wait Angelina, I remember!” she smiled at her achievement of remembering “Then one in the accident right” She paused, and whispered to herself “No that’s not right” Then she smiled and looked back up at the girl “Your brother was in the accident, I think you were there to…” She put her finger to her chin and tapped it, while whispering “Not quite sure” She spun round while saying “I wonder what happened to your brother” She began walking forwards.
Suddenly everything hit her and she froze, her eyes widened as she realized what actually happened to her brother. Her hands fell down by her sides, and she slightly shock, from embarrassment and guilt. Gaia was rude, she knew that, but she wasn’t cold hearted, or at least she didn’t want to be. She slowly brought a hand to her mouth How could I have been so cold She thought to herself, closing her eyes slightly, she did not want to turn around and face what could be now a very upset girl, especially when that girl had been so nice to her.

Angie stood there for a moment as the other girl seemed to start recollecting things about her. And then Gaia mentioned Angie’s brother and Angie… Angie who had been trying to hold it together for so long just stood there speechless for a moment. A punch to the chest would have felt better that what she was feeling at this moment.
Angie had done a remarkable job of making people believe she was all right, emotionally, with what had happened. That it wasn’t getting to her little by little and bit my bit, every day. It was all a lie and the lie was surfacing now. She suddenly felt like she couldn’t breathe and would collapse at any moment. She though somehow remained standing, though a tear fell from her eye and she was unable to move or speak.

The tension built with the time that passed as no one said anything. Gaia felt so stupid so guilty, how could she have been so inconsiderate. As time passed, Gaia found it unbelievable that Angie didn’t come over and hit her, or even just walked out. In fact Gaia started to become worried about the girls stature, there was no noise coming from where she was and Gaia feared the girl had collapsed, or something similar, but a question came to her, wouldn’t she have heard her fall.
Throwing that thought out, her guilt and worry about Angie got the best of her and she slowly turned round to see the girl just standing there, she looked as if she couldn’t breath, Gaia lowered her gaze so not to have the girl’s pain looking at her. But she couldn’t not look, she felt rude, she looked back up and saw a tear fall from the girl’s eye. Gaia gasped and her eyes widened, she breathed out and quickly closed her eyes tight and turned her head towards the floor but also towards the window, almost in a diagonal route.
She opened her eyes and her fists clenched, more because she was angry at herself, for being so inconsiderate and cold. The silence lengthened.

Angie saw it as if in slow motion Gaia turning to look at her and then turning her head away. Suddenly, her legs couldn't stand anymore and the girl collapsed on to the floor. She was breathing heavy, the world felt like it was spinning out of control and she felt like it was caving in on her. She tried to take some deep breaths but felt unable to. She could feel the tears start to overwhelm her eyes but for some reason was still trying to hold them back.
Angie had heard about panic attacks before but couldn't think clearly enough to figure out that was what was going on. All she knew was that she felt like she her world was suddenly caving in on her.

Gaia looked up suddenly as the girl fell towards the floor, she gasped and took a quick step forward trying to catch her, but she knew she was to far away, so stopped, Angie looked panicked and looked as if she was finding it hard to breath. Gaia’s eyes widened as she looked around wildly to try and find something that could possibly help.
Now Gaia started to panic, she didn’t really want to run for help, that would ruin her image so much and she doesn’t run around for someone she hardly knows. She couldn’t possibly know what was actually going on with the girl. Talking to her might worsen it and not talking to her might do the same.
She suddenly remembered something and ran to the bathroom, remembered she doesn’t run around for those she doesn’t know and walked to the bathroom and found a small bag and a cloth. She ran the cloth under some cold water and put it in a dish, also taking the bag with her she walked back and sat in front of Angie. Passing her the bag, she urged the girl to take it and breathe into it.
She didn’t want to touch the girl and had a feeling the girl didn’t want to be touched by her so she just got it over quickly and grabbed hold of the girls arm and dabbed the cloth on it so that her skin would absorb the water so she could cool down and not dehydrate. If Angie was breathing heavily and hyperventilating drinking water was going to be near impossible, so Gaia had to get water into her system some how.
Once she had finished dabbing both arms, she pushed the hair out of Angie’s face and dabbed around her forehead and face. Trying not to make eye contact.

Angie took the bag and started breathing into it, at Gaia’s suggestion. She could feel the cool cloth on her but she still felt warm. Without thinking about it her jacket had some how been removed by her and now the cloth seemed to be on her arms.
It took a few minutes but finally Angie’s breathing steadied and she removed the bag from her mouth. The tears she had eventually been unable to hold back and now she seemed to be using her hands to wipe them away. Angie realized that her arms were uncovered and without thinking tried to hide the scars but it was pointless, by this point Gaia would have seen them.
Angie swallowed, embarrassed by what just happened and not knowing what to say to this girl that she knew but didn’t know that well. So, what came out was the first things that came to mind. ”I’m sorry. That has never happened before.” Of course she meant to her. And the second part only made sense because Gaia’s parents and Angie’s parents were in the same circle. ”Please, you can’t tell …anyone My parents can’t find out this happened.” It seemed like an odd request considering what had just occurred but Angie’s voice was practically pleading with Gaia to honor her request.

Gaia looked to the girl as she spoke, she nodded. Not really wanting to speak at this moment, since she believed she caused this, which she most likely did. After a while the girl spoke again, Gaia looked at her questionably Why wouldn't she want her parents to know, does she have a bad relationship with them After finishing, Gaia stood up "Why?" she spoke questioning and suspisious.

Why? The question shouldn’t have surprised the blonde but it did anyway. Angie took a few more breaths before responding. She needed to think of what exactly to tell Gaia. Too much information was as bad as too little, she supposed.
Her mind went back to her parents. Their relationship had never been great. Mostly, they threw her in boarding schools and always favored her brother over her, very obvious when it was just the four of them. But now…now…things had become worse and she was sure, in her mind, what would happen if her parents found out… any excuse, give them one thing…that is what they had said.
”If they find out…let’s just say it would be bad.” She paused. ”And it’s very likely they would take me out of here.” She knew if that happened because of something like this exactly what would happen to her, where she would end up. And she couldn’t …she just couldn’t end up there.

Gaia walked and put the cloth down while the girl talked, she turned back "Bad? How so?" She spoke and looked out of the window "And your afraid of them taking you out?" She questioned again. This girl reminded her of someone... she just didn't know who.

Angie didn’t know what to say to the question about it being bad. She picked herself up from the floor and made her way to her bed to sit down. Before she responded Gaia had asked the question about her being afraid. ”Yes. They blame me for my brother’s death. And have threatened to throw me in one of those schools for teens that have mental problems, if they find any excuse to do so. This …the panic attack, I’m afraid might just give them the excuse they need.” Basically, it was a mental hospital for teenagers. She would be in there until turning eighteen, the thought made her shiver. As Angie might need a lot of things but one was not to be locked up like that. She didn’t want to tell Gaia all of this but the other girl, it would seem, had the advantage.
